Urban Assault Mobile Skatepark Tour
1998 Urban Assault Mobile Skatepark Tour

The 1998 Urban Assault Tour was sponsored by Pepsi-Cola Company, Wilburgers Ski Shops, and K2.  The tour consisted of approximately 9 events.  Most of these events were held in cooperation with township parks and recreation departments throughout Montgomery, Bucks, Delaware, and Chester Counties in PA.  There was a scheduled stop in Atlantic City, NJ as well.

Because of the high demand for these types of events, the townships teamed up by fours and fives in order to bring these events to their communities.  The joint community effort was impressive and unprecedented.

The event consisted of three awesome demonstrations performed by the Urban Assault Skate Team.  In between each demonstration, the community skaters had an opportunity to skate the portable skatepark.  The events also included an incredible sound system, and the K2 demo van.  The demo van was equipped with approximately 100 pairs of In-Line skates and two skate instructors.  The K2 van allowed everyone an opportunity to experience the fun.

The Mountain Dew Source Van was located at each stop loaded with FREE Mountain Dew and great giveaways.

Team Urban Assault - 1999    The Montgomery County Drug Abuse Resistance Education Program more commonly known as "D.A.R.E." was on site with their effective display.

Promotional efforts for the Tour included radio tags, local newspapers as well as direct mail.  Promotional information was also distributed throughout each participating school district and township summer camp programs.  Promotional posters and stickers were also distributed at each event.

The 1998 Urban Assault Tour was the most exciting, well attended, and innovative program these communities have seen in years.  Everyone involved experienced success!
