Details from 2007 show

"Prayers for the Earth"
Her work is rooted in detailed and realistic form. The work fuses line into color into form, the emerging of two dimensions into three, figurative into abstraction and merging of Eastern use of perspective into Western perspective. In an article about Paulette Bensignor's work, Diane Walman senior curator at the Guggenheim Museum, NYC, NY, stated: "an example of an extremely original treatment of the landscape." Bensignor is an artist, who works with the image of the landscape. She is interested in the environment and uses symbolism in her work. Exceptionally detailed and realistic in nature, her work encompasses much more. The subject of her work lies not only on the immediate surface of her images, but submerged below the surface and inside of her viewers. Her work has been called a type of "Hyper-Realism". Since 1966, she has continuously exhibited and won various awards for her work as a painter and printmaker. Bensignor has shown primarily in the New York City and the Philadelphia areas, as well as Europe and Asia.

Bensignor is represented in a number of public and private collections in the United States, England, France, Germany, Italy, S. Korea, Belgium and Portugal. Some of her public collections include The DuPont Corporation, Wyeth Corporation, Verizon, Philadelphia Museum of Art, The Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, Hilton Hotel Corporation and McGraw Hill Publishing Company in New York City and London. Her work has also been featured in a documentary on Artists at Blue Hill on P.B.S. television in New York.

Paulette Bensignor's work gained attention in New York City with the introduction of intensely patterned detailed landscapes.

Bensignor works in many mediums, but she prefers to us oil on canvas. She doesn't recognize where one medium ends and another begins treating the interior subject is what is important to her work.

She is interested in fusing the inner world with the outer one, line and color into form, the merging of two dimensions into three, figurative representation into abstraction and the merging of the Eastern use of perspective into Western perspective to create new views.

The emotion of her work combines with the use of extremely fine lines and color which can suggest an underlying theme.
