Products Used: PermEntry® Stairway with Bilco® Classic Series Steel Sided Door Project Description: This egress system was installed in a 24" thick, "mica" type stone foundation. We used a backhoe to create the hole for the stairs. A drain was tied into the existing foundation drain of the house. We had to create an opening to accommodate a full size door. After we made the oversized opening, we built masonry piers with lintels to form the rough opening for the new door assembly. We installed the stairs and then set the commercial grade steel frame and steel door. Then, we backfilled with stone and re-plumbed the sump pump discharge line.
