A Great Place to Live
Glenelg Farm by builder Stephen Cope, is a luxury new home construction community located in both Newlin Township and
East Marlborough Township in beautiful Chester County, PA. Historic homes and a rural
history can be found throughout both townships. Glenelg Farm is in the highly respected
Unionville-Chadds Ford School District.
Founded as Newlintown in 1724, Newlin Township
is immersed in its historic setting,
retaining its rural heritage while embracing the cultural sophistication of local residents.
"Stargazers Rock" is a Newlin Township landmark named for the stone which marks the
location of the observatory Mason and Dixon used in surveying the border between
Pennsylvania and Maryland. They were known as "the stargazers" because they used
celestial navigation to correct their measurements over the ground.
East Marlborough Township,
established in 1729, is home to Longwood Gardens with
over 1,000 acres of horticultural splendor with spectacular fountains and fireworks
displays as well as educational programs and performing arts events. University of
Pennsylvania's veterinary school, The New Bolton Center, is located in East Marlborough Township.
A variety of recreational activities from hot air ballooning to canoeing the Brandywine
River await the adventurous. Golfers will revel in the lush courses not far from Glenelg
Farm. More gardens can be explored at Winterthur Gardens in nearby Wilmington, Delaware. This former
country estate of Henry Francis du Pont is now a museum filled with his collection of
American decorative arts of the 17th and 18th century. The 60-acre garden at Winterthur
is known for colorful year-round displays.
Chadds Ford Historical Society
A research library is available for the study of American art and material culture.
A visit to the nearby Brandywine River Museum in Chadds Ford brings yet
another garden, the Brandywine Conservancy's Wildflower and Native Plant
Gardens created as a living representation of the Conservancy's mission to preserve,
protect and share American artistic, natural and historical resources, principally
of the Brandywine region. The Brandywine River Museum exhibits American art in a
19th century grist mill and is internationally known for its collection of works by three
generations of the Wyeth family and for its fine collection of American illustration,
still life and landscape painting.
The Brandywine Battlefield Park
and Valley Forge National Park serve as memorials to
our country's rich heritage. This area of Chester County beckons residents to embrace
the simple pleasures of the past and to celebrate the area's long relationship with the
rich, open land and the tradition of the hunt. Equestrian competitions are held
throughout the year and fox hunting is still a treasured pastime.
Fine dining opportunities abound in respected establishments throughout Chester
County. Functioning farms such as Northbrook Orchards, offer fresh produce and
often host holiday events with hayrides, craft fairs and homemade baked goods.
The Kennett Square
Mushroom Festival celebrates the area's distinction as
Mushroom Capital of the World. Enjoy an afternoon of wine tasting at the
Chaddsford Winery, Star Gazers Winery, Folly Hill Vineyards and Paradox
Vineyards. Many fine shops, specialty stores and markets are only minutes away.
Come and enjoy a life of simple grandeur. Join the residents of Glenelg Farm and
discover a life vastly removed from the everyday bustle and highly rewarding in
the pleasures of Chester County hunt country.
