The RDS Foundation

The RDS Foundation was formed in 1988 in loving memory of Timothy S. Cannon. The Foundation raises money for research into the cure for RDS. Eight years after its inception, the Foundation has raised in excess of $1,300,000 through the tournament, other fund raising events and corporate donations.

The Foundation, with the guidance of its exceptional Medical Advisory Board, has funded research at the Hospitals of The University of Pennsylvania, Harborview Medical Center of The University of Washington, and The University of Milan, Italy. In addition, the Foundation has funded two international seminars in Chicago and Aspen, Colorado, bringing together the foremost physicians in RDS research.

Several corporations, including Charming Shoppes, Inc., Household Financial Corp., and Koons Steel Inc. have adopted the Foundation and contributed a great deal of time, effort and money to the cause. We thank them, and the countless other companies who have contributed over the last ten years, for their continued support.

The FDA has recently approved two new drugs to combat RDS. With these drugs and the new therapies being developed with the Foundation's research funds, over 10,000 lives are being saved every day. Through continued support and the timeless efforts of all our volunteers and donors, the RDS Foundation will continue to strive to find a cure for RDS.

We invite you to become part of our mission.
