Philadelphia firm assists Big Apple post 9/11

the largest Minority/Veteran-owned Consulting and Accounting firm headquartered in the state of Pennsylvania, has been awarded a seven hundred thousand dollar contract by the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) to provide financial oversight of the World Trade Center recovery effort.

In working with the Lower Manhattan Recovery Office of the FTA (LMRO), is currently serving as the FTA's Financial Management Oversight contractor for the infrastructure rebuilding effort at the World Trade Center site in New York. This project requires MILLCO to monitor and conduct reviews of the financial management systems of grantees receiving an estimated $5+ billion in federal funds to finance transit-rebuilding projects at the site.

"Inviting an out-of-state firm in for a project of this magnitude and sensitivity is quite a testimony to the level of quality and value we bring to all of our clients. This was about more than winning a contract, it says something profound about the level of trust we've engendered over the years," states Managing Principal, "We are very proud to have been selected to do this work."

MILLCO was established in 1985 and has grown to become one of the most quality-driven, successful CPA and consulting firms in the Philadelphia Metropolitan Area. MILLCO has since expanded from its Philadelphia, PA base, touting regional offices in Washington, DC; Baltimore, MD; New Orleans, LA; and South Jersey.

Charles Holmes, MILLCO Principal responsible for managing the Assurance Division, has performed and provided oversight on other large project audits for the firm, such as, The Redevelopment Authority of the City of Philadelphia, First Energy, Inc., Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority, The New Jersey Redevelopment Authority, and the Office of Homeland Security; Immigration and Naturalization Service. "The LMRO project was a natural extension of what we do, "provide unparalleled quality," Holmes says. "On projects like these, you only have one opportunity to get the job done right."?

Since the inception of the firm, MILLCO has received numerous awards for its outstanding record of distinguished performance in financial management, auditing, compliance reviews, taxation, transportation and infrastructure consulting, management consulting and business advisory services, as well as disadvantaged business enterprise advocacy and compliance consulting.
