Making your move to an adult 55-plus community will change your life. You will find single story living, less maintenance and lots of folks just like you to share all the fun our resort style communities have in store. But you probably have lots of questions about this new lifestyle as well. Here are just a few of the most common ones. Our sales counselors would be happy to put you in touch with residents of our communities who can tell you first hand what it is like to live in a 55-plus Community.

Get information about adult 55-plus communities Q: Can my grandchildren visit me overnight at an adult 55-plus community?

A: Many 55-plus communities are designed for adults, but there is no reason why you can't share your beautiful new home with your children and grandchildren!

Your family may visit you as often as they like, provided there are no permanent residents under 19 years of age living in your home. Children under 19 may visit you at least two weeks per year and share the community's grounds and even the facilities with you on a limited basis.

Q: Doesn't "adult community" really mean it's a retirement home with a lot of older people?

A: Nothing could be farther from the truth! At many 55-plus communities, there is a wide mix of people of all ages and interests. Many people who live in the communities work every day, and those that have retired enjoy volunteering or traveling. There are doctors and lawyers, retirees and housewives, married couples, widows and widowers.

Eighty percent of the homes must have one person in the household be 55, but federal law permits a limited number of homeowners under the age of 55. No permanent resident under 19 years of age is permitted.

Q: Why would I want to live in a neighborhood without children?

A: Children are wonderful, but you've raised your children (and maybe your grandchildren) and now you don't want to have to raise your neighbor's children. Isn't it time you enjoyed a quiet, peaceful neighborhood with no basketball nets, no skateboards or rollerblades and no loud cars?
