Adventure Club:
On The Move!

"Life is an adventure, and if you aren't having adventures, you're missing a big part of living," Mr. Millar commented when asked about the new adventure club which he, Mr. Rittenhouse and Mr. Allen started this year.

The first adventure took place on Saturday, September 13 when Mr. Millar and Mr. Rittenhouse along with Tara Della Franzia, Katie Greer and Matt Breen biked down the forbidden trail to Manayunk and back. Everyone had a great time riding the 14 miles of wooded trail along the river and the highlight of the trip was breakfast at the Farmer's Market in Manayunk. On Sunday, September 21the second bike ride, this time along the Delaware River, was another invigorating trip. Mr. Millar hopes to take weekly bike rides and welcomes all new riders, whatever level, to join him and Mr. Rittenhouse.

A whitewater rafting trip, scheduled for September 28 in the Lehigh Gorge, already has received an enthusiastic response from students. Though the water may be a bit icy, the fall foliage promises to be exquisite. Other exciting adventures planned for this year include whale watches, camping, overnight biking trips and canoeing.

Mr. Millar, Mr. Rittenhouse and Mr. Allen are really excited about the students' interest in the new club and hope to have lots of people sign up for all of its excursions to get the club off the ground.
